March 4-5, 2019—Denver, Colorado
I’m looking forward to attending the Online Dispute Resolution Industry Summit in Denver next week. The event will be hosted by Amber Ivey—Manager, Civil Legal System Modernization Pew Charitable Trusts; and Paul Embley—Chief Information Officer National Center for State Courts.
Pew is engaging in the summit as part of its Civil Legal System Modernization project which seeks to address the problem faced by more than 30 million Americans each year who deal with civil legal problems without the help of a lawyer.
The summit will provide an opportunity for court and industry participants, including representatives from NCSC, Court Information Technology Officers Consortium, Joint Technology Committee and the IJIS Institute Courts Advisory Committee to explore how ODR technology can play a role in providing a more equitable system where disputants can:
resolve disputes more efficiently
engage in the legal process more flexibly
have a greater understanding of their legal rights
achieve fairer outcomes through a more easily understood process
